. >> to overnight fires in northeast baltimore being investigated as cases of arson. police say they were started with molotov cocktails. we have been following the late breaking details. let's go live now to police headquarters with more on the investigation. >> 12 apartments were destroyed. six adults and one child were taken to hospital. all of those in hospital are in good condition. fire officials say it's a miracle no one was killed. >> just before 4:00, the call came in for a fire on an apartment building in northeast baltimore. >> i heard somebody threw a bottle or something through that window. they were on the right side. >> luckily no one was hurt. around the same time, this same call came in. six adults and one that 7-year- old boy were injured. some have to jump from their windows. >> i had to crawl -- i had to crawl out the bedroom window. i didn't know what to do. >> wednesday afternoon, police announced both were started by molotov cocktails thrown through windows, the work of an arsonist. >> i can tell you this is a very dangerous arsonist. anyone who would aspire bomb the house

and south of annapolis. in the central part of baltimore county and cecil county as well we have some showers. this system is moving very slowly, maybe 10 miles per hour to the north. this will cross over into carper county in the next 15 minutes or so. all of these storms have the possibility of producing some local flooding. the forecast for today is off and on showers and thunderstorms. there will be some dry hours mixed in there, and it is awfully humid. we will be back in a few minutes to look at the forecast through the weekend. >> police in baltimore county and are looking for a suspect who may have robbed a convenience store in lansdowne. officers regard -- responded just before 2:00 this morning. the store clerk was shot and it is in critical condition at this hour. the search for the suspect continues. baltimore city police say they are still looking for the suspect to shot up a labor day party this weekend, killing a 23-year-old woman. the woman was in the front yard of the party when someone and block away opened fire, striking her in the chest. detective do not believe sh

this morning is first lady michelle obama's visit to baltimore. she spoke to a sold out crowd at a fund-raising event at morgan state university. tv cameras weren't allowed inside that venue but those who paid to get in said the first lady got a rock star reception. >> it was beyond anything i have ever heard. i never heard anyone walk on a stage and get such an eruption of powerful love. >> some of the 2,000 supporters who packed the murphy fine arts center describe a loud and long explosion of cheers as first lady michelle obama took the stage. >> it did really erupt. she hardly could get started talking and people just wouldn't even let her stop. >> only print journalists were allowed inside, no tv cameras allowed, but supporters shared some pictures as they explained the consistent themes of the first lady's speech. most say she focussed a lot of education and health care. >> talking about students receiving aid and grants. i'm a graduating senior. i go to school on federal aid. if it wasn't for the bills that barack obama has passed, i would be unable to attend. so that was a highl
